Pleasant surprises

I have a friend named Freyja. I think she agrees with me when I say that she's not the most girly-girl in the world. Anyhoo, Freyja and Maria visited me in Manchester not too long ago, and pictures were taken as per usual when one is travelling. When both of us looked at this picture after it was taken, an unusually non-sarcastic Freyja dropped:

"Whoa, it looks like I'm thinking: 'I love him so much that I wanna see the world through his eyes'"

Sometimes my friends can say the most unexpected, uncharacteristic things for being them, but still in such an honest and simple way. I guess that's why you have friends - they will never stop surprising you.

Back to her good old self. Nice to have her back. You don't want your friends to constantly surprise you.

She's coming back for a visit in June! We're planning to have a Mad Men-themed BBQ. Already planning the event on FB in my head, the title will say something in the lines of:

"The Mad Men's BBQ: bring your best suit/50's cocktail dress, top hat, unresolved father issues and suppressed anger to a night you will soon want to store in a dark, far away place in your memory"
